Real WordPress sites,
tested on real hosts.

No synthetic benchmarks. We migrate a fully-loaded WP install onto every host we cover and run Lighthouse 3 times a day for a week, then track uptime for a month before publishing. The result: rankings that match what you'll actually see on launch day.

Common questions

Hosting buyer's FAQ.

Six questions we get from readers most weeks. Yours not here? editors@tuto.digital — usually replied within 48 hours.

Q1 Shared, managed WP, or cloud — which one do I actually need?

For a personal blog or a small business site under 50k visits/month, shared (Hostinger, SiteGround) is fine. For agency client work, growing eCommerce, or anything where downtime hurts revenue, jump to managed WP (Kinsta, WP Engine). For dev-led teams that want to pick the cloud and scale freely, cloud / VPS (Cloudways) is the sweet spot.

Q2 Why is the renewal price so much higher than the intro price?

Welcome to hosting in 2026. Most shared hosts use the intro price as a customer-acquisition cost — they expect to make it back over years 2–4. We always quote both prices in every review, and the "renewal pain" score is part of our 6-axis formula.

Q3 Do I need a Türkiye-based data centre for a .com.tr site?

Helpful, not required. Frankfurt-hosted sites with Cloudflare's TR edge will perform within 30–50 ms of native Istanbul hosting for most visitors. KVKK doesn't require Türkiye storage either — but if you handle personal data and want the simplest compliance path, a TR data centre is a reasonable extra.

Q4 Is "unlimited bandwidth / storage" actually unlimited?

No. Every "unlimited" plan has fair-use caps — usually CPU minutes per day or inodes (file count). When you hit them, the host throttles or asks you to upgrade. We list the real caps from the AUP in every shared-hosting review.

Q5 Should I buy hosting and domain together?

We recommend keeping your domain at a dedicated registrar (Cloudflare, Porkbun) and hosting separately. If your host has a billing dispute or goes down, your domain is still under your control. Bundles save $10–15/yr; portability saves you a 3-day migration headache.

Q6 Do you take money from these hosting brands?

Yes — affiliate commissions when you sign up via our links. We're transparent about it on every page. Crucially, we score before linking — and Kinsta still sits at #1 in our list with one of the lower commission rates in the industry. Money doesn't move the verdict.
