Some links on this page are affiliate links. If you buy, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you.

The people behind the reviews.

We're a small editorial team in Istanbul, publishing honest tests of hosting, VPNs and AI tools since 2019. No paid placement, no sponsored rankings, no shortcuts.

tuto.digital Founded 2019 Independent · Reader-supported

tuto.digital exists because we got tired of "best of" lists that rank whatever paid the most that quarter.

We started in 2019 as a side project: one writer, one WordPress install, and a Hostinger plan paid out-of-pocket. The goal was simple — write the hosting review we wished existed when we were buying.

Six years later we're still small (4 full-time, 3 contributors) but the rules are the same. Every product we cover is paid for at retail. Every recommendation passes a 30+ day live test. Every affiliate relationship is disclosed in plain language.

If we're ever caught cutting corners on any of this, please tell us. Publicly is fine.

What makes us different

Three rules we don't break.

Anyone can claim editorial independence. Here's what ours looks like in practice — written in operational terms, not marketing copy.

01

We pay full retail.

Every product we review is purchased at the public price — credit-card receipts on file. We never accept free units, press accounts or "preview" access from vendors.

$14,200 spent at retail in 2025
02

We test for 30+ days.

Synthetic benchmarks lie. We migrate a real WordPress site, run real traffic, log support response times, and only then publish. The Hostinger review in our top of mind was 45 days of WooCommerce orders.

168k+ data points / year
03

We disclose what we earn.

If a link makes us money, the affiliate disclosure on every page says so. We publish commission ranges, not vague language. Three product reviews we'd be paid the most for are not our top picks.

How we got here

tuto.digital in seven years.

2019

Started as a side project

One writer, one Hostinger plan, one WordPress install. First review: the SiteGround vs Bluehost comparison — still in our top 5 traffic sources.

2021

First full-time hire

Hired Merve Karaca as senior privacy editor, expanding from hosting into VPN reviews. Methodology document published the same year.

2022

The "no sponsored" rule

Declined a $48k sponsored-roundup offer. Wrote a public post about it. Subscribers doubled in three months. The lesson stuck.

2023

AI desk launched

Added AI tool reviews when GPT-4 became the standard. Ahmet Yıldız joined to lead the AI vertical, running quarterly benchmarks across 240 prompts.

2024

Migrated to Elementor Pro

Rebuilt the site on a leaner stack: Elementor Pro, no 3rd-party plugin bloat. Cut load times by 41% and reduced annual hosting + plugin costs by $470.

2026

Where we are now

96k monthly readers, 11.4k newsletter subscribers, four full-time editors. Still independent, still small, still ad-free.

Who's behind this

The editorial team.

Small, opinionated, and accountable. Each editor signs the reviews they write — bylines are real names, with photos.

What we won't do

A short list of red lines.

If we break any of these, please tell us.

  • We will not accept paid placement in any roundup, "best of" list or category ranking.
  • We will not publish sponsored articles disguised as editorial.
  • We will not link to a product we haven't paid for and tested ourselves.
  • We will not let an affiliate program's commission rate influence a score.
  • We will not delete or quietly edit a review after publication without a dated update log.
  • We will not pretend a review is independent when it isn't — every commercial relationship is disclosed.
